A Couple More Clues....

Okay, Christmas Eve, I have a second in-between wrapping presents (cutting it to the very quick, I am) and I already have these stills ready to go, so for the couple of films that have not been guessed already, have one more go. I'll post the answers for the ones correctly guessed and one more still from the three that are still unknown. Note that number 4 has been guessed correctly, but not with confidence so I am giving that person one more chance.

1. Lost in Translation
2. IT
3. Ghostbusters
4:
5. Charlie & The Chocolate Factory
6. Jaws
7. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
8. Harold & Maude
9. Labyrinth
10. Poltergeist
11. About a Boy
12:
13:
14. Breakfast Club
15. Adventures in Babysitting
16. Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure
17. Jeremiah Johnson
18. Big Trouble in Little China
19. The Phone Call
20. Edward Scissorhands

Well done, friends, well done. Let me know if you have the remaining three figured out. Merry Christmas!

P.S. Grifter, if you're reading this, be sure you check my reply to your response in the original guessings from the posting below. I congratulated you on your guesses, and I want to make sure you hear me clapping or else all my clapping would have been in vain.

Waiting for Guffman

.....

DRIVING ME INSANE WITH ANXIETY BECAUSE I CANNOT PLACE THIS ONE AND IT IS SOMEHOW AN IMPORTANT FILM TO ME.

i read your clapping. i blushed. t'weren't anything special, really...besides, everyone else had already guessed them all. i like your quiz. i realize mine might have been too grandiose on first attempt. i like this game and i want darren to stand up some more...we can do this on rotation, occasionally. fun. bravo.

Keep at this one. It will kill you when you peg it. You didn't introduce this movie to me, but you introduced the glory of the cult associated with said movie....the video games, the quotable quotes......you'll slap yourself silly.

It's not Tim Burton. Hemingway does appear, though. Hope that doesn't make it to easy for you.

And your quiz was fine.........I am really your loser friend. I don't think I've seen half of those movies. I'm into pop trash more than cinematic masterpieces. I'm grateful you posted what you did though, because it gives me things to watch in the upcoming snowy, empty Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Oh, and yeah, you're right. Butch and Sundance, Waiting for G. That first still was that awesome shot of Paul Newman falling backward into a water pocket in exhaustion. And the first Guffman shot was of what Christopher Guest was making whilst being interviewed. Naturally. That's the whole movie, suppose.

*raucous applause*

Nice work.

And your quiz is not poo. It just ascends a higher plane of distinguished taste and keen observation. Post your key already so I can start renting. Or put them on Sharon's NetFlix list.

ahhhh. butch and sundance.

Guffman. it has been years since I have visited that old friend. i am ashamed.

I have'na seen 13. So i don't feel bad about not knowing.

great choices here. also, Joe, i second Emily's anti-poo-post stance. you had fine choices.

Zufelt, you need to see Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness. My Uncle Robert made me watch them when I was 13 and I was never the same again. You would appreciate. Bruce Campbell is the human cartoon.

I am KILLING myself for not guessing Lost in Translation. That movie is nougat filled in it;s goodness. I hate myself a little for not guessing it. BooUrns.

I will take your recommendation to heart and watch.

Make sure you get Evil Dead II and not Evil Dead the NC 17 version. It's the same plotline I've heard, generally speaking, but the Evil Dead II version is the one they rated R by turning the blood different colors etc, etc.

I'm glad you appreciate Lost in Translation. I don't mean to brag, but I've been to a lot of those places......stared at the same subway map.......Tokyo + Bill Murray = my secret fantasy.
