I wish I was going with you. Maybe next week.

Price, get down here. I'm headed out to the trail in about an hour, but I'm getting off on Wednesday. I'll stop neglecting the whole talking-you-into-coming right around then.

Blast and phooey. So it begins. The Great AZ Blog-off is under way. Nice start, hussy.

This looks exciting. Gillz and Audi. N'er a more fiery duo since the days of Butch and Sundance.

Go disappear into the wild like juniper smoke.

Hooray. You've finally made a new post and I can comment to my heart's content. Awesome pictures. I am so jealous. We didn't see a balancing rock like that one. Also I wish I were so close to the Watson family. I didn't realize you were already in Phoenix--you're already eating cantaloupe and avacado. Well, Charity makes a wicked chicken dish with pesto and marinara. And you already have a masters. What are you doing working with my kind of population? AND, you are a myth buster. My mommy told me if I got stung by a scorpion I would die. I've been "watchin' out" my whole life. Think of the things I coulda done.

I went for a run tonight. I looked at the moon. I thought about stuff. I need to change things. When you get back, I might be a beautiful moth.

Great pics.

You look radiant in these photos! Your friend looks like a cutie too.

Hey, I want you to get your can over here. I'll pick you up if I have to. Just come and play ASAP!

Em, you look great. Will you please call me...I have news!

Stubb, my pictures will never be a match to yours. Gila monsters!! No great balancing hoodoo-in-the-making will beat a gila monster. I want to see you and SweetWife soon. Charity, I won't have you come up, but I am considering catching some kind of bus down. My car is sketchy right now. I'll call you tomorrow.

Mrs. Norris, please comment this place up. Let me know next time you're visiting Tuscon, and I'll come down too. It'll be a grand party. Jaren and Charity can put up in a tent in the living room for us (they've done it before).

Joe......alas. I was only able to get one full glorious week of gallivanting and hobo-ing around before she had to dip off to Hawaii to graduate. But it was still a glorious fiery week. I'm thinking I might spend Thanksgiving on the North Shore. Keep my tan up.

Jen, the suspense is literally killing me.

Troy, I have nothing but confidence in you. Cocoon away, my friend. I have some cocooning to do myself.

Is your cell phone functional? I want to come pick you up after my interview today but I need an address. I've tried calling you 3 times and left 1 message. My interview is at 3PM. CALL ME!

Wow.JW's the only person I've ever heard use the word "phooey."
And what's Jen's news?? Also, did you call or was that your dad telling me you been eaten by JW's Gila monster? Oh, horrible death! C'mon. I've been on the far side of the moon picking lilacs in the doorways, and I feel something terrible happened to Jen? Is Audi coming back to AZ this summer? North Shore; North Shore, "Doesn't anyone stay in one place anymore?" And I don't want you to disappear into Juniper smoke or Troy to turn into a moth. (But I sure wish you'd change your picture. You look like the sulking brat I've only seen come out in you once or twice.) Has Jen got cancer, and you're not telling me?

Sharon: Hahaha, call Jen if you want her news. I'm still feeling displaced down here. Audi's finishing school in Hawaii. I should call her right now. I just need to get on the trail and not suffer through the current dramas of day-to-day survival in a city I don't feel a hundred percent involved in yet. Take me to a place where my biggest priority is keeping water in my canteens. I miss coolness of turning to autumn in the north. Maybe I'll take a brief weeklong hiatus at your place sometime in October.

If you're thinking of making it to Idaho in October, please let me know. I would love to meet you in person. You can be my pedagogue. I don't cook or clean but can treat you to Mom's Candy Kitchen. I don't care where you've been in the world, there's no better chocolate.
