For Tim Curry Lovers Only

I realize I haven't said two cents since getting married, but David and I have been swamped with grading compositions; we have 220 students between the two of us and every spare second we have we've spent eating pumpkin cookies and birdwatching at Rexburg's Nature Park.

In fact, I'm trying to plan a lesson about the Gothic revival for my Romantic literature class this afternoon, but while I was trying to find a church-school-appropriate clip from The Rocky Horror Picture Show on YouTube (it's a companion piece to William Beckford's Vathek), I tripped over this gem of a historic pearl and couldn't help but post it here, where hopefully three or four of you will mutually appreciate the Curry's tambourine. God bless the person who uploaded it for all of us to enjoy. I know Halloween was last weekend, but the song does mention Christmas, too.

Whoa. He looks like the love child of Martin Short and David Bowie.

Of course you love Tim Curry, because so do I. I just saw him on an episode of "Psych"--playing a parody of Simon Whatshisname from American Idol (Cowley?). Allen and I both laughed uproariously when Curry said, praising the virtues of a plush bathrobe, "I feel like a fat angel baby swaddled in a cloud of cotton candy."

My three favorite Curry roles:
1- Rooster in Annie
2- Dr. Poole (opposite Marisa Tomei) in Oscar
3- The creepy devil guy with horns in Legend, before Tom Cruise had his teeth fixed or jumped on a couch on Oprah (betcha didn't know that one).

I haven't ever seen Rocky Horrow Picture Show, and, I must admit Gillz, this clip doesn't really sell it for me.

Glad to hear from you--hope you have a long long Christmas break to relax.

Becca, you are too kindred. Legend: yes. David and I wanted to rent Legend for Halloween but opted for Stephen King's Pet Sematary instead ("Sometimes dead is better..."). And Ferris Bueller's girlfriend play's Cruise's girlfriend, and Cruise plays Link from Zelda. Awesome movie.

Also, Psych, yes. David was just telling me about that Curry Psyche episode and it is next on our Netflix queue. I can't wait.

Have you seen Curry's role in Clue? THAT is one of his finest hours (but I'm a big Stephen King's IT fan, too...I can't help it. The clown just isn't scary once you know it's Curry).

Also, I have to make a correction--it was while I was looking for RHPS clips that I found this clip. It's from an only horrible Disney movie called The Worst Witch, and I'm sure it went straight to television in 1986. I've only seen clips of RHPS, but Curry is majestic. He plays a transvestite from Outer Space and I won't let myself watch the whole film because I'd know I'd accidentally like it (and feel really guilty afterward).

Love that Tim Curry.

Okay, I don't know what that clip was about but I have always loved Tim Curry. When Madison was little she loved Fern Gully and Tim Curry is the voice of the sludge. He sings this awesome song that I used to love but now can't remember. And in the 90's he was in some sitcom that I think took place in a hotel which sucked but I watched b/c he was in it.

p.s.
Why would you feel guilty about watching RHPS but you would rent Pet Semetery? I'm not judging, that's one of my favorite movies. To this day I don't expose my heels while looking under a bed.

"Slime beneath me; slime up above.
Oooh, you love my
Ah, ah ahhh! Toxic love!"

Ferngully.

Rooster makes me love him. Clue makes me love him more. And that is why I watched "The Three Musketeers" with Chris O'Donnell.

I am afraid of RHPS. Never seen it. Never will.

Creepier than even Pennywise das Klown.

This is a great video of a person that you have never seen in real life. You have especially not ever seen this person in Las Vegas coming out of a hotel.
